Trip type: Family 3people found this review helpfulWe went to this hotel from december 20th to december 27th and we have been very impressed! Even if it was not completely booked, all the services were "over the top". It's modern and so clean. It's not too crowdy, the perfect place to relax and there are so many inclusives. The food is very good in all restaurants and very fresh. Normally, I don't like the buffet style but they change their theme every day so, the food is very diversified. They organise a lot of interesting activities and we even had a fresh fish lunch directly on the beach with musicians. We had a junior suite with sea view and the room was modern, with a jacuzzi and a huge ceramic shower. They have a spa center. We just arrived from this trip and we already plan to go back soon.

Tipo de viaje: En pareja 3personas encontraron esta crítica útil.I did a lot of research before booking any trip. The reviews for this resort were so-so. I have to write and let you know that this is an absolutely awesome resort. None of the negative reviews were even close to true. The food was fabulous at all restaurants and the buffet was themed and changed daily. The beach and surf were beautiful and fun to play in. The rooms were immaculate. The service at the front desk was friendly and efficient. The rest of the wait staff was friendly and went out of their way to help and serve. We have never been so well taken care of and so happy with a choice. We got an awesome deal from Bookit.com and will definitely rebook thru them. The touring staff members are honest and helpful and try hard not to out sell each other. I have nothing negative to say at all and would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a relaxing peaceful vacation.

We traveled to this resort and stayed for 6 nights! We were on the paradise club side in the Presidential Suite. This was definetly worth the money! We were in Building 7 and had the whole top floor. We could see most of the resort from the different corners of our deck. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Dalel everything was awsome. Dalel, Louis, Israel, and Jackie made the trip special for us. Everyone remembers your name and makes you feel like you are a priority. Pure restaurant (for paradise club) offers a fabulous dinner, several courses. You can order room service 24 hours a day and the food is decent. We met several couples the secound day we were there and had such a blast. I think the paradise club side is usually pretty quiet, however we rocked the swim up bar! The beach and ocean were great. Several activites if you look around. The fire show is a must see, the other shows are entertaining to have a good laugh at. We spent most the days at the swim up bar with the other couples we met. Israel the bar tender was funny and kept the party going! He would watch your drinks and automatically make you a new one when your was about 3/4 gone. He would throw cans of beer in the water for the guys which was cool. The cabanas are on a reserved basis. Some dont have the sign but they are all reserved so talk to Louis about those. He is a super nice guy that is there to please. For Lunch they had a little station by the swim up bar that offered hamburgers/hot dogs/ tacos/and then a new item each day such as burrito or pork shop. It was nice to have food so close that you can get without walking. Everything in the resort is easily reachable/walkable. Overall a great resort thanks to a great staff. We will definetly be back to see Dalel, Louise, Israel, and everyone else.

Tipo de viaje: Con amigos 5personas encontraron esta crítica útil.We arrived at the hotel on December 6th with a group of 8 . Our check in was quick and they accommodated our request to all stay in building 1. We were also able to make dinner reservations at the time of check in for all 4 nights of our stay. Our rooms were all very clean and spacious. We had no problems with anything being taken from our safe, as others had reported. When we asked for specific beverages to be placed in our fridge, everything was done immediately.

The pool was beautiful and we never had a problem getting lounge chairs will all 8 of us sitting together at the pool's edge. We did find the beach nice for walking, but going into the water was pretty rocky in spots. There was also rough water on a couple days because of the wind.

Benjamin, the bar tender at the pool bar was very friendly and provided good service. Edith was the girl that tended to us when we sat around the pool. She not only brought all of our drinks, but she also without asking, brought us plates of nachos and other snacks to enjoy while we basked in the sun.

Alex and Krystal were part of the entertainers at the pool. They invited us to participate in all the activities, but when we did not want to join in , they honored our decision without being pushy.

The food was very good in all of the restaurants we went to, (the Asian, Italian and Senses,) although service in Senses was slow. The buffet was also good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We always found plenty to eat, with a good variety. Before and after dinner, the 8 of us gathered in the lobby bar. Service was great there as well. We never waited longer than a couple minutes for service. Coors Light, Sol and Dos XX was available in cans at all the bars throughout the resort.

If any previous reviews had you concerned about the service or quality of food, I hope this review puts your concerns to rest.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

“Great Resort, Paradise Side is Fabulous”

NH Riviera Cancun

View from 9203 Balcony

Great View
Pure Restaurant for Breakfast

Just returned from 2 weeks at the NH Riviera Cancun. We stayed on the Paradise side. Worth the extra money, if you don't have children and want to be spoiled.

Flight down with Transat was the usual sardine situation, but no real concerns.

Transport to the hotel was quick and easy(took about 20 minutes). Check in was also quick since there was only 1 other couple checking into the Paradise side. Once we were shown our room it was beatiful with a great view on the second floor. I was able to ask/persuade the concierge at the Paradise check-in for an Ocean Front room. After waiting for a couple of hours, he was able to honour our request and you will see from the pics, that it was definitely worth the wait. People say that the room doesn't really matter since you are not in it very much, but I disagree. If you have a fabulous room, only 50 meters from the ocean, with a drop-dead ocean view, with an outdoor jacuzzi on a huge balcony and the waves lulling you to sleep every night, you will spend a lot of time there enjoying your stokced mini fridge after a day by the beach or pool.

Room was large and best we have ever had in our 20 visits down to the Caribbean. We have stayed at El Dorado Seaside, Dreams Tulum, Rui Palace Cabo, to give you an idea of what we compare it to. Crazy view, good housekeeping, quiet and very civilized. We were in room 9203. The 9000 building and the 7000 building both have ocean front rooms.

We did not have any trouble with booking all our dinner reservations at the a la carte restaurants with the concierge every Monday morning for the whole week. Dalel and Jackie were just fabulous and Luis was also great.

Pure is the restaurant on the Paradise side. It is open for breakfast and offers a limited but good menu of simple food, with an awesome view. It is adults only. If you are in a hurry or require a lot of selection you will need to go the buffet for breakfast. We ordered room service for breakfast and lunch and it was also good, but with a limited menu. Always delivered quickly and almost always with the correct food.

We only went to the buffet 2 for breakfast. It was cafeteria style and did not have as much selection as we were used to.

Lunch we had at the grill by the pool and had some great snacks, skewers, fish, burgers, nachos and salsa/guacamole.

We ate every dinner at an a la carte restaurant and all were good. Pure for dinner is Gourmet fusion, which means they serve you all sorts of weird food, all about the size of a multi-vitamin. 12 courses in all. Did it once but did not return.

All other a la cartes were awesome. Our favourite was Senses, the gourmet restaurant. Good service, awesome food, great ambiance for a romantic evening. Asian was also very good, and food was great and a nice romantic setting. Italian was also good and food was good. Mexican restaurant was good, but the lighting in the restaurant was too much. I've been in tanning beds that were less illuminated than that! But all was good.

Beach by the Paradise side was small but rock-free and the beach was not busy the first week, but was busier the second week on account of American Thanksgiving. Paradise side was filled with mostly Americans, some Europeans and a few Canadians.

Gym facilities were modern and not too busy. 3 good treadmills, 2 ellipticals. lots of free weights and other machines. Opens at 7:00 am.

Spa area is very good and very seldom used by anyone. Have a great jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.

Grounds around the resort are growing in and never appeared sparse on the Paradise side.

Paradise Lounge opens at 8:00 am and offers cold drinks and continental breakfast and has 2 computers that offer free internet. After 5:00 it offers a full range of premium brand liquor, good Chilean wines and snacks. Good spot to check your internet before dinner. Lobby bar and surrounding lobby area is huge and a great place to have a drink before dinner. Sometimes they have live music.

We found service to be very good. We had the luxury of being at NH Riviera Cancun for 2 weeks so some of the friendly staff got to know us well. I tip for good service, I take interest in people's lives and are interested in their culture and speak a little Spanish. This all goes a long way. If you don't take any interest in their lives, chances are they will take minimal interest in your life. C'est la vie. We found them all to be courteous, helpful and relatively efficient.

We made the day-long trek to Chichen Itza and it was awesome. We booked it through Olympus Tours and they were first rate. You can book your tours through them on their website and then confirm with the Olympus Tour rep at NH Riviera Cancun, by the spa. We also went into Puerto Morelos for lunch and had a great day. Cab ride is $6 usd. Great fun.

I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. The non-Paradise side was very full and loud when we were there from Nov. 20-Dec 4. Have fun and enjoy. Your vacation is what you make it. Hasta leugo!
